We have hired Caleb Theis, our part time Monthly Billing Specialist, to be our full time Billing Specialist and Scheduling Coordinator!

We hired Shari Cooke as our newest ATP! Her first day is March 17th and she will be based in the northern MN area!

Conferences

Mercarik's ATPs went to the ATIA conference in Florida! It was fantastic being able to escape the cold weather in MN and meet and bunch of new faces. Our team had a ton of fun learning more about what Assistive technology there is that we can offer our clients.

Assistive Tech of the Month - Boundary Care

At Mercarik, we’re committed to helping the individuals you support achieve a safer and healthier life. As we step into the new year, we're excited to highlight BoundaryCare, an assistive technology platform centered around a smartwatch that offers:  

• Health monitoring: the watch tracks vital metrics like heart rate, convulsive motions, quality of sleep, and O2 saturation.  

• Seizure symptom detection: the watch can help identify seizure-like symptoms, such as increased heart rate, drops in oxygen saturation, and convulsive movements.

• Fall detection: the watch can detect falls as well as help identify the cause of falls.  

• A robust GPS tracking system: the watch uses GPS tracking and geo-fencing to help prevent elopement and wandering.

Focused on increasing independence and safety, the system provides real-time alerts and an intuitive dashboard, helping caregivers track trends, review alerts, and support overall health more effectively.
